the truth

I am glad to see that more and more people on social media are "getting real" and making sure that their followers know how real their lives are!

If nobody has told you yet, every single BIG social media person you follow lives a pretty normal day to day life just like you and me! ..

The same struggles, the same habits, the same tasks .. and if anyone tries to make you believe otherwise, ditch em!!

Insta-fame is not a thing and I promise you, they are scrubbing the dishes and going through daily struggles (mental and physical) just like us!
A lot of folks ask me "how do you live the way you do?!"...  I focus on sharing a lot of my exciting days via youtube and I post lots of “pretty” adventure pictures - which I love to do and do a lot of! BUT.. honestly, I live a normal day to day life .. just like all humans! I truly do love both sides (the adventure and the normal days!) ..

I love my patterns, my slow mornings, my daily habits, my everyday normal life! I am a homebody for sure and find a lot of happiness in cleaning, cooking, running errands, spending time with my family and vibing in my own little world most days! It is my happy place!! But like I said - I love the craziness of travel and adventure as well (and sharing that with you!) ..

So, here is an average/normal day for me!

I wake up anywhere from 5-7AM most days .. sometimes 4AM if I am excited about something or have a lot on my mind and sometimes 8AM if I stayed up too late (and late for me is past 9-10PM haha!) ..

I like to lay in bed and stretch .. every morning I let myself slowly wake up. I pop on my little lantern next to my bed, I put on some music or a guided morning meditation and I just move, stretch, think, plan, call Damon or my momma etc.. I don’t like to “jump” out of bed.. it doesn’t suit me .. so I just vibe and chill.

Once I do get up .. I head downstairs and prep my grandmother’s morning .. get her clothes out, put tooth paste on her tooth brush, mouth wash in her little cup, I clean out her trash and (being real here) get her adult diapers prepped.

I make myself some dandy blend every single morning (I will link that here for you!) .. I usually have mine hot with cashew milk, maple syrup and shilajit (for its many benefits!).. it is delicious! I have been having that for years! While my water is heating I usually drink a glass of water .. I am usually thirsty when I first get up in the morning!

I either bring my dandy back upstairs and watch some Netflix (lol) or read .. or begin emails! Sometimes I do this upstairs in bed and sometimes I sit at my desk, sometimes at the kitchen counter, sometimes on the couch! It really depends on how I am feeling!

When my grandmother wakes up, I make sure she gets situated ok and make her coffee - she drinks decaf but has no idea haha. If it is a bath day, then I try to get her in the bathroom to shower first thing so I don’t get her disrupted mid-morning!

I make her breakfast (meat/cheese/egg related .. she has Alzheimer’s and to try to X those out wouldn’t be ideal for her - she loves her food and that is a part of her joy at this point!) .. It isn't ideal for me, but I don’t mind because I love her and I know how important getting her calories/food in is.

This morning I finished up my emails and now started shipping out T-shirts! If you’re interested in a t-shirt, I will link them here :P

I popped a load of laundry in and folded what was in the dryer! Damon stopped by before leaving the area for work and I made him chocolate chip pancakes (from my ebook) and popcorn! His favorite combo!

For breakfast, I made myself oatmeal! Here is how I made it! Mash a banana in the oats with cashew milk + water (I use quick oats) .. Microwave for 1-2 minutes .. mix together. Top with coconut yogurt,  frozen blueberries, a dash of cinnamon and almond butter + more cashew milk!

I got on a phone call for about 1 hour total and swept the kitchen + vacuumed the living room. I made an iced berry tea and started reading a book called Collapse by Jared Diamond. It is so good so far - a little hard to get into but it is all about the the falling of certain societies over time.. SO interesting!

I headed out to run to the a farmer’s market up the street from me and grabbed a ton of fresh vegetables! When I got home, I ate a banana and 3 medjool dates with a few scoops of peanut butter and headed out on a long run. I have been loving my runs lately.. I tend to go in and out of loving certain things like that! I just let my body do what it loves (which some weeks or months is not very much, while others I wanna do it all!!) .. I listened to a podcast called “Often Ambitious” while I ran .. I am a podcast LOVER!

I got home and stretched for a while .. nothing in particular, just vibes out on my mat for about 15-20 minutes maybe?

I made my grandmother lunch and then made myself sweet potato fries and a big salad with hummus maple dijon dressing!

I decided to finish up a few more of the T-shirt orders and get everything organized to be brought to the post office… I have a love/hate relationship with the post office LOL

Damon got home earlier today and I made us dinner - pasta with my cheese sauce + mixed frozen vegetables. And make Mom-mom dinner, too.

I made tea later .. bengal spice made with lots of cashew milk! So delicious.

Later on we put on a movie called Blue Valentine.. it’s on Netflix! It is SO good. Watch it if you can! And that is it :)

As you can tell, I do a lot of average/normal things in my day to day life. I love to take care of my grandmother, I love to feed Damon (and myself lol) and I love to clean/run errands/work my business/talk with my friends/clients and family .. just love all things normal! I find comfort in days like this .. when I look back and think: wow, I ate amazing food - spent time with the people I love most - learned some new things and took care of my home .. super fulfilling for me! :)

Now onto a few questions that I got on my Tumblr that I want to answer!
My Tumblr.
Ask me anything anonymously!

Q: Do you just make up your own yoga flows (30min, 45 min long flows) or do you watch someone on YouTube? Love you and your videos! xx
A: Yes! 95% of time time I just go for it .. I flow and move and dance and lay around/stretch .. no big expectations! Just me and my mat and some good tunes! Sometimes I follow a youtube video but that is rare and if I do, it is more of a pilates yoga type of thing vs an actual dance/flow!

Q: How can I feel more compassion and love towards humanity? I have a history of domestic violence and abuse and even though it’s been 7 years since I left that relationship I still struggle with compassion towards people. I feel hardened (if that makes sense) and I hate that I feel that way.
A: This is a tough one. I have dealt with this and carried some serious anger with me without healing .. for years. It was pent up and I had something against most people .. I was VERY judgmental and got very annoyed with people … I lashed out a lot and felt validated about it, too (like I was doing nothing wrong!)

I also felt like I couldn’t give into letting out my emotions (fully) in front of Damon .. for a long time. It was hard for me to admit that I felt insecure about myself, to talk about my downfalls (drugs, body image, ED, fitness, mental health issues) ..

It took work ..time .. learning about myself. Consciously putting the effort in to open myself up and take care of myself. I always say this and I truly and firmly believe it: going plant based is what softened me .. it is what made me, ME again. I am calm, content and willing to do what it takes to love myself and make myself proud - to live a life that is fulfilling and full and wholesome.

It was hardest when I first started .. and took years to change (still changing!) ..
Start now .. take a small step! Start with the biggest components in your life and focus solely on YOU (not others) .. focus on what you eat / how you sleep.

Then move onto some mental health stuff .. but get those two in line as much as possible (you wont ever ever be perfect, none of us are! - but get those two under control and on the right path and you will have the energy to work harder on your insides!!)
I hope this helped!

Q: Do you ever throw up when you have migraines? Or do you get really nausea? I get bad migraines and just wondering how you handle them and how you try to relax
A: Luckily, my migraines have diminished by around 90% the past 5 years .. in high school, I would get 1 on each side of my head (2 days back to back) about a week before I got my period. They would ruin 3/4 days of my life at a time. I would get violently sick and could barely open my eyes when it was light out.. I would just hide away for those days. Crippling!

Now I get 1 every few months and I use cannabis (a 50:50 CBD:THC medical strain I got in Colorado) to aid in the pain .. I sleep for a few hours and hydrate a ton and it subsides. Migraines always suck .. but getting my hormones regulated and eating right/sleeping right has helped SO MUCH!

Q: What is the best way to get rid of stubborn cellulite?
A: I want to first say: all women have cellulite. It is just how our fat works .. its the structure inside and can’t be changed. BUT .. you can help tighten your body up via the right lifestyle — which also leads to a deeper appreciation of your body! Less judgement and more love!

For cellulite reduction I recommend:
  1. Eat right. You have to start here - it is the BIGGEST factor in the way your body looks and feels .. and your energy levels which leads to ..
  2. FITNESS! Once you have your energy levels set and are fueled properly .. your body will naturally crave movement. I suggest things like: walks, jogging, hikes with elevation, pilates, yoga, at home workouts etc! These are sustainable and fun and won’t over-do it .. but will help to lengthen and tone the body over time (and you can do them for life!) .. try to avoid heavy lifting workouts/cardio — in my opinion these will only harm you as you will over do it, burn out and eventually do harm to your adrenals, hormones and motivation!
  3. SLEEP .. make sure you are getting 8+ hours a night and if you happen to be under sleeping - take it EASY!!
  4. HYDRATION! A lot of folks are chronically dehydrated and they don’t even know it. Avoid caffeine .. and drink lots of water and eat lots of hydrating fruits and smoothies!

I want to know: Did you like this? If so, I would love to do more of these! Leave a comment below (as well as any questions you have or any suggestions for future blog posts!!)

Love you guys and can't thank you enough for the support you give me!

Hey Stella, I love this style of blog SO much. It is comforting hearing how someone successful and beautiful as you is not doing much unrelatable or unattainable through out their days! It's also comforting because I come from a past of constantly overworking myself- burnout, adrenal fatigue, & hormone imbalances. Always pushing myself too hard, though I'm finally learning balance, thankfully!!(also after going plantbased and plenty of self love!) So it's nice to hear some relatable days that are chill, healthy, and balanced! Much love!!

Hey Stella, I’m Hannah!
I’m a 17 year old junior in high school and I’ve been so interested and starving for true health and wholeness ever since I was 12 ish! I’ve experimented with all different types of veganism (hclf vegan, raw till 4, raw vegan, etc,) I know my body is still growing and changing but I’ve been not feeling the best lately. Do you take probiotics and vitamin b12? I don’t and maybe that’s why I don’t feel good.

I love your positivity and chillness. I often feel stressed bc of school, sports, work, lack of sleep, and insecurities.

This is kind of personal and you don’t have to answer this but Are you a Christian ? Do you believe in God? You seem so loving and yeah, idk.

How did you start this all website and business up ? I would love to do what you do, help others heal through diet and lifestyle, but I feel so much pressure to go to college and be somebody (doctor, teacher etc) but I don’t know if that’s my passion, my passion is to help others in a real way, to do kind of what you do! I think so many of the worlds problems is bc people are out of balance! I want to help that!
